Upcoming Events of Interest


  • THIS THURSDAY: The one and only SHERMAN ALEXIE reads in the South Side to promote his first novel in 10 years. I have been a big fan of Alexie's since 2000 when I bought his book, The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, in New Mexico and read it on the plane ride home. South Side Works Theater, 7PM

  • THIS FRIDAY: T&T Native Lauren Alleyne reading her poetry at Chatham University, 5PM

  • THIS SATURDAY: Machete, a band composed of the members of Chaibaba, plus Genya Nieves, trombonist Greg, and others, performing Puerto Rican music. The Altar Club, the Strip District, 6PM

  • NEXT THURSDAY: A Cave Canem Reading- free at the Hill House! Featuring none other than Yusef Komumkayaa, Cornelius Eady, Toi Derricote, and Carl Phillips! 7PM

  • NEXT FRIDAY: My reading, along with 4 other class members of a performance poetry class. Birmingham Bridge Tavern, the South Side, 7:30 PM, in conjunction with the Most Wanted Fine Arts collaborative.
